FURNACE MALFUNCTION
3/01/2007 0728 Hrs Tower 10 was on the street again ,this time going to the Boro of Huntingdon for a possible furnace fire. Tower 10 and the Chief responded with a crew of 4 arriving on the scene with nothing evident for side A. Lt. 5 (Bell) was on scene with the furnace shut down.The Tower crew set up positive pressure ventilation to clear the structure of a light smoke condition. Chief 5 ( Brouse)arrived and held the box to Engine 5 and the Tower placing the remainder in service.

BUSY DAY FOR THE 10 HOUSE
3/06/2007 0724 Hrs The day started early for the 10 House with an MVA at South 10th St. and Pa Ave. E-10-1 and the Chief responded with a crew of 5 along with Squad 6 on the daylight box. E-10-1 arrived on the scene with PSP placing the fire equipment inservice, no service needed.The box was placed available by Chief 10.
At 1127 Hrs Tower 10 was alerted for an AFA in Walker Twp. on Shenecoy Drive. Chief 6 (Hockenberry) went direct and was advised by the 911 center it was a false trip and the box was placed available prier to Co.6 and the Tower responding .
At 1204 Chief 6 (Hockenberry) came up on the air reporting a field fire in the area of Victoria Heights in Walker Twp. This put Co. 6,Brush and Engine 10, and Attack 5 on the street. Brush 10 with the Chief arrived and was directed to the head of the fire and start wetting down the perimeter. 10 Engine's crew assisted with raking a line around the top of the fire. Brush 10 dropped 2 loads of water supplied by Tanker 6. Chief 6 had the command. Units on scene were, E-6,T-6,E-10,B-10, and A-5

3/07/2007 O801 Hrs The day started out busy again for the 10 House and the Squad from 6 responding to back to back MVAs in the Township. The first being on Fairgrounds Road in the area of Enders Wood / Plastics for a single vehicle overturned in the ditch. E-10-1 and the Chief (Rosevear) were out with 4. Chief 6 (Hockenberry) was in the area and quickly went on scene with no one around the vehicle and no hazards.The box was placed available and units returned.Shortly after checking in the tones were dropped for a MVA reported to be 2 vehicles,unknown conditions,in the area of Piney Ridge Road and Crooked Creek Road.The 10 House responded with E-10-1 and the Special Unit.The area was check and nothing was found.While on this call a Medical Assist was also handled in the Township By QRS 6 which was enroute to the MVA.

MVA ON SMITHFIELD BRIDGE
3-8-2007 The 10 House was dispatched for an MVA in the Township,C-10 (Rosevear) arrived on the scene in The Boro. Boro PD said it was in the Township so who are we to argue with the men with guns. The Engine/Rescue arrived and provided traffic control till PSP arrived and did the investigation. The 10 House went available and returned to the township.So much for the Township/Boro line running down the middle of the river.

ASSIST FOR A BRUSH FIRE
3-12-2007 The 10 House was alerted for the Engine and Brush to assist Co. 6 for a brush fire on Bouquet Street in McConnellstown. Engine 6 and the chief(Hockenberry) went on the scene with a working brush fire threatening structures,C-6 requested an extra Engine be added. Brush 10 arrived and placed a 1" line in service on the south side of the fire, 10 Engine arrived and supplied E-6 With water. Engine 5 was added and supplied the Brush with water.All crews worked well together overhauling the fire and C-6 placed the box available.
LP LEAK IN THE TOWNSHIP
3-16-2007 0834 Hrs The daylight box was dispatched to 10142 Fairgrounds Rd for a LP cylinder leaking. Employees had the leak contained prior to the Fire Departments arrival. The Engine arrived with a crew of 6 with FF Everts in command. 10 Engine and E-6 staged till the arrival of LP provider.

MVA WHERE ???????
3-16-2007 1343 Hrs The daylight box was dispatched for an MVA with entrapment on the Point Road in Juniata Township as reported by PSP.The Engine/Rescue from 10 responded with 6 with Captain 10 (Glover) in Command.Due to severe road conditions Squad 6 was held at the intersection of Snyders Run Road and Point Road.This proved to be a good move due to the location after a second report of the MVA being on Snyder Run Road, NOT Point Road. Squad 6 arrived on the corrected scene reporting no entrapment,no injuries.The Engine/Rescue was already committed to the point Road turned around and went to the corrected scene.Units waited on scene for the towing service and returned.

MVA ON 4TH STREET IN THE BORO ??
3-17-2007 1545 Hrs The 10House,Co. 5, and Co. 6 were dispatched for an MVA on the 4th street bridge. The Engine/Rescue from 10 was on the street right after dispatch with 4 and Captain 10(Glover) in command. The MVA was determined to be in the Boro ,we think. Crews staged until the vehicle were cleared. The 10 House had 3 rigs on the street with a total staffing of 14 not counting the group of 12 that were in Tipton Playing in a Bingo tournament.

HOUSE FIRE IN THE BORO
3/23/2007 Right before 0900 Hrs the tones dropped for a house fire at 404 7th. HPD quickly went on scene with a working fire in the rear of the 2 and half story muti-family dwelling. The Tower was out the door with a crew of 4, Lt 10(Rhone) as officer, 10 Engine and the Chief (Rosevear) with a crew of 6 responded shortly after.The Tower arrived with orders to vent the roof from C-5 (Brouse) .The crew used a 35ft ladder to gain access to the upper level.The Engine's crew got orders to search the first floor and then go and assist the first in line crew.The fire was in the kitchen of the first floor and extended to the second floor bathroom. Crews assisted with overhaul of the kitchen area and outside porch roof.The 10 house went available at 1030 hrs.Crews did an excellent job working together.
FIRE IN THE SOUTHSIDE
3/23/2007 At 1630Hrs the Huntingdon County 911 center sent out the 1st Alarm assignment for a reported Basement Fire at 902 Mt. Vernon Ave in the Village. 10 Engine and The Chief(Rosevear) arrived on scene with moderate smoke in the basement,a 2" line was advanced to the basement where the crew found the fire contained to the dryer with no extention to the house.Tower 10 took the address and started with Positive Pressure ventilation The Dryer was removed to the outside and the house ventilated.Units on the Scene assisting the 10 House were, E-5,E-50,E-6,E-20,Sq.6,R-1, and the Amb. from 500. Attack 1 transfered to the 10 house.C-10 had Mt. Vernon Ave Command. C-10 would like to thank all the companies involved for a job well done.

3/24/2007 1820 Hrs Just as the Pride Telethon was getting in full swing the 1st alarm on the 6 box was dropped for a trailer fire on Hartlog Valley Road .10 Engine and the Chief(Rosevear) with a crew of 6 were out the door shortly after dispatch.The 911 center notified C-6(Hockenberry) that they received a call stating the fire was out.C-6 held the box to Co.6 and placed the remainder in service.
